ABOUT ME

 

Hi!

    My name is Christianna Alyssa T. Palentinos, and I'm a young Filipina architect. I've been practicing professionally since 2022, in my humble hometown of Manila. I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Architecture degree way back in 2018 but it took me four years to obtain my license because of the COVID pandemic. I became an architect's apprentice for quite some time after leaving my Alma Mater.

    My favorite international architects are Ludwig Mies Van De Rohe, Daniel Libeskind, and Kengo Kuma. I also like great architects from my country such as Leandro Locsin and Jose Maria Zaragosa. There's something about minimalism and modern contemporary styles that caught my eye, but as an architect, I firmly believed that we should always act on the client's and public interest, regardless of the architectural style. Well, after all, architecture should have three attributes: firmitas, utilitas, and venustas ("strength", "utility", and "beauty", like what Vitruvius wrote in his book,  "De Arquitectura"

    I am manifesting to have my own atelier someday, study Interior Design, and even get a Master's degree! But for now, I am working for a large company in my country, and enjoying all the progress and learnings in the corporate world.

    In my free time, I enjoy visual arts, writing, blogging, and playing games.
